At Utopia Clivias, the heart of winter marks one of the most exciting times of our year: Clivia seed harvest season. After months of careful hand-pollination, nurturing, and observation, the fruits of our 2024 breeding efforts are now being harvested and cleaned—ready to continue their journey into passionate Clivia collections around the world.
This year, a later-than-usual flowering season has meant a delay in seed ripening. But at Utopia Clivias, we believe that quality should never be rushed. We are committed to harvesting only fully matured seeds, ensuring optimal germination rates and giving our clients the very best start in their own Clivia growing journeys.
Our seasonal harvest includes rare and exciting genetics from our own breeding lines.
Once harvested, each seed is individually cleaned by hand using a meticulous process that removes all remaining fruit pulp while preserving the seed’s natural protective layer. Clean seeds are then sorted, labelled, and made available in limited quantities through our online shop.
